Chip'n for Children Golf Tournament Griffin Brothers will host the 2nd Annual Chip’n for Children Golf Tournament benefiting the Levine Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network on Monday, October 25, 2010. The tournament will be held at Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte and will begin with a shotgun start at 12:30 pm. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Children's Miracle Network – one of the annual fundraising initiatives of Levine Children’s Hospital. Every penny raised will stay in the community to help support the hospital and its related facilities. The shared vision of the Children’s Miracle Network and Levine Children’s Hospital is to provide all children with access to quality healthcare. Levine Children’s Hospital, which opened in December 2007, is a 234-bed hospital at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte that treats children from all walks of life and with a range of illnesses and injuries. With more than 30 pediatric specialties, Levine Children’s Hospital is the most comprehensive facility of its type between Atlanta and Washington DC. The Hospital, which provides neonatal intensive care for the tiniest, sickest babies in this region, was recently named in U.S. News & World Report’s list of “America’s Best Children’s Hospitals” for the treatment of kidney disorders. Other distinctions include organ and bone marrow transplants; pediatric dialysis; interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery; and heart-lung bypass capabilities for newborns and pediatric patients. Levine Children’s Hospital has an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation unit, 24/7 emergency department, and the Ricky Hendrick Centers for Intensive Care, which supports pediatric intensive and cardiovascular surgery patients.
